Codeman 1.41.0 is out, one day after the tile grid, and it's mostly about the tiles again: they can switch on like an old CRT now, and the mouse wheel finally scrolls Claude inside a tile. There's also a new
codeman agentcommand so agents in any CLI can drive other sessions, an Apply button in Settings, and fixes from four contributors.Tile Animations. App Settings has a new Animations section, and in it a Tile Animations row. Pick CRT and every tile powers on as a hot line in a diagonal wave, then switches off to a line and a dot when you close the grid. The other styles are Fly from tab (tiles grow out of their session tabs and fly back in), Deal (dealt out of the Tiles button like cards), Beam down, Cascade, Pop and Soft. Each tile plays in two beats, the frame first and then its screen powering on in the style of your Entrance Theme, and picking a theme presets a matching tile style. It's off by default, per device, and nothing moves if your system asks for reduced motion.
Tiles open what's busy, and remember your layout. Hit Tiles with nothing arranged yet and you get the sessions that are working, then the ones waiting on you, then the most recently used, instead of your oldest tabs. Once you've moved tiles around and sized them, that exact layout comes back every time you turn Tiles off and on, in that browser.
The wheel scrolls Claude in a tile. If you run Claude Code's fullscreen renderer, the wheel over a tile (or the split's second pane) now scrolls that session's conversation, same as the main terminal. Before, it did nothing or scrolled leftover frames. Shift+wheel for local history works in tiles on Windows and Linux too.
codeman agent. @Randalix built a command-line client so agents in every mode (Codex, OpenCode, Gemini, Pi and the rest, not just Claude) can list, start, prompt, wait on, read and clean up other Codeman sessions:codeman agent ls | spawn | send | wait | read | interrupt | rm. It talks to the same API the codeman skill uses, refuses ids shorter than 8 characters so a typo can't hit a random session, and never deletes the session it runs in. The wiki page Driving Codeman From An Agent has the details.Settings got an Apply button. @opticon454 added Apply next to Save: it saves but keeps Settings open, so turning on MCP sync lets you hit Preview right away. They also made toast and desktop-notification display times configurable (Settings, Notifications), made links to headings inside a markdown file actually scroll there, fixed npm-based CLI installs from Settings on machines where the system npm prefix belongs to root, and taught MCP server sync to include GitHub Copilot CLI's config (as a sync target only, not a new run mode).
Search the vertical rail. @aakhter added a Search sessions box at the top of the vertical tab rail: type part of a name and it narrows to the matching tabs across every group, collapsed ones included. A tab that needs you stays visible even when its name doesn't match, and you can still drag a found tab into a group.
Closing a tab is instant. The tab (or tile) goes the moment you click, and the server cleans up behind it, about twice as fast as before.
CLI logos on tabs are optional. If your dashboard is mostly one agent, App Settings, Appearance, Tabs, CLI Logos on Tabs turns them off on this device.
Fixes. Cloning a repo as a case now reports a missing branch or repo properly on non-English systems (thanks @Randalix for finding and fixing it). @JDProfresh moved pasted and uploaded images into a hidden
.codeman-uploads/folder that ignores itself in git (the old.claude-images/still gets cleaned up through 1.41.x), made typing on a phone show up again after a tab switch, and made failed uploads tell you why instead of just "1 failed". New cases' CLAUDE.md asks agents to report created files as full absolute paths, so you can click them. And @Randalix moved every test server onto a random free port, so two test runs on one machine never collide.Release notes: https://github.com/Ark0N/Codeman/releases/tag/codeman%401.41.0
