We want a technically rigorous, welcoming project where people can disagree without demeaning one another. Participants are expected to:
- Be respectful, specific, and constructive.
- Critique ideas and evidence rather than people.
- Respect privacy, consent, and reasonable boundaries.
- Acknowledge mistakes and correct them.
- Avoid harassment, threats, discrimination, sexualized attention, doxxing, and sustained disruption.
These expectations apply in project repositories, issue trackers, reviews, discussions, community spaces, and when representing the project elsewhere.
Maintainers may edit or remove contributions, comments, commits, code, issues, and other material that violates this code. Responses may include a private warning, a temporary restriction, or a permanent ban, depending on severity and pattern.
Report conduct concerns privately to the repository maintainers. If no private maintainer contact is available, open a minimal public issue asking for a private contact and include no sensitive details. Use the security-reporting process only when the concern also involves a vulnerability or security incident. Immediate threats or platform abuse should also be reported through the hosting platform's safety tools.
Maintainers will limit disclosure to what is reasonably needed to investigate and respond, while recognizing that absolute confidentiality cannot be guaranteed. Retaliation against a reporter or participant in an investigation is itself a violation.
Enforcement decisions should consider context, impact, prior behavior, and whether harm was repaired. A person affected by an enforcement decision may request one reconsideration from a maintainer who was not the original decision-maker when one is available.
