USB failed to enumerate reason?

Hey, Im just starting to try out the board, so I am not sure whether I might not have missed something. I am currently having problems with the Attiny being recognized...here is dmesg/tail:
usb 2-1.1: device descriptor read/64, error -32

I have already installed the CocoMake board in the IDE, tried updating the programmers.txt/boards.txt as I saw this might be a problem of USBasp with Linux. Im on Linux Mint Mate 17 and Arduino 1.6.3. Do you know whether this can be a driver problem or? Also, could it be that I need to connect the board first to Arduino and program the Attiny...tnx :)

I tried burning the bootloader now, the issue is that the usb itself appears as "not recognized", so I get timeouts. Is it then that I need to connect the Attiny through some other microcontroller before (like Arduino)?

As to the change, I added to boards.txt this:
attiny85U.name=ATtiny85 with USBasp
attiny85U.upload.using=arduino:usbasp
attiny85U.upload.maximum_size=8192
attiny85U.build.mcu=attiny85
attiny85U.build.f_cpu=1000000L
attiny85U.build.core=attiny45_85

and to programmers.txt I saw that the USBasp lines need to be modified like this:
usbasp.name=USBasp
usbasp.communication=usb
usbasp.protocol=usbasp [at some places I saw people putting "arduinjo.usbasp"]
usbasp.program.protocol=usbasp
usbasp.program.tool=avrdude
usbasp.program.extra_params=-Pusb

burning bootloader is one time process, you can use arduino isp or usbasp device, and after it you have to program directly to attiny using usb... have you check D+ D- connection to attiny? and proper zener diode value?

Ok, great - so I connect to an arduino (i have one that is from olimex ) following the schematics here and burn the bootloader through arduino? After that what is the part using avrdude?

As to D+ D-, I will check again if the connections are OK. As to zener diode, I got specifically 3.3v but when I have a tester, will double check :). Tnx!

are you using attiny85 ? cocomake is for attiny85 only right now

i usually burn bootloader with this step http://highlowtech.org/?p=1695 the difference that you need to select cocomake7 as the board
