Design engine: equal angle zigzag failure when 2 strata

Jerome wrote to the list noting second stratum did not receive effort when he specified total line length and percent effort to each stratum.

I allowed his design to be evaluated by specifying waypoint spacing rather than line length. However, that does not solve the problem that the engine failed when line length was specified for each stratum.

Is it possible to get a minimum reproducible example?

The work-around also fails under certain conditions (when specified spacing exceeds a threshhold)

Jerome is also unable to get the test project (above) I sent to him to work properly. He's using Windows 10, Distance 7.3R2.
