So one of the features I always liked in Vivaldi was easy switching of search providers by using a simple prefix with a space, g for google, d for duckduckgo etc etc.
I noticed that we have something similar with Bangs. Sadly it requires a ! prefix to start with it. Which, kinda makes them a little extra. Which with the amount bangs you can have from public repo is well... Kinda makes you either disable them and use your own bangs instead.
Also secondly, I can only allow a single bang in the Search bangs list and the others I may use come in as recent or frequent bangs list in the URL typing UI section.
And thirdly, when I start typing prefixes, like !g I don't see the Google first and foremost despite that being the shortest prefix alphabetically... Rather I see a huge ass scrollable list which goes on and on (cause yes I have the public bangs). Scrollable list should be alphabetically sorted to show the matching bang first and foremost and then the rest after it.
Describe the solution you'd like
I would suggest the ability to customize the public bangs, or add custom user prefixes/keywords that override that public prefix entirely.
I would suggest alloting multiple bangs in the search bangs. So they never get reset from the bang list under recent bangs.
Make scrollable bang list while using prefixes, show the first bang matched followed by the rest alphabetically sorted.
