Of course one can read the module and function IDs from every single file, but it would be nice to have a table somewhere that maps function (and module) IDs to their respective libc-function.

The filename is the function name. What is the problem?

It is more of a convenience feature, but as I am trying to implement syscalls, I have to look into printf.as to find out that the call to printf has a module ID of 1 and a function ID of 0x103, for example. It would be nice to have a document that lists all calls and their respective IDs as a form of specification, as long as there is no operating system providing it.

The system calls have not been defined yet. The ID for printf is just a convenience for the emulator. The final implementation of printf will probably do the formatting of the string in user mode and then call a system function or device driver to send the characters to stdout.
