Dashboard: Utilization of worker assigned CPUs

Dashboard now shows utilization of all cpus. It would nice to show (optionally) only utilization of assigned cpus (or grayout the non-assigned cpus).

Can we easily found out which CPUs are assigned? If so, how? :)

It can be obtained by ResourceDescriptor that is part of WorkerConfiguration

Ah, I misunderstood then. I thought by "assigned" you meant "assigned to some task", not "managed by a worker".

+1 for this feature request.

And if that information becomes available it would be nice to add it to the output of hq --output-mode json worker info for programmatic consumption. We can currently see the running_tasks, but cannot tell total assigned cpu resources to those tasks. I don't know if you would prefer to report number of cpus assigned to actively running tasks, or actually measure the realized load/utilization of the cpus. I would be fine with either, but would prefer both :)

I have managed to get this feature working with the cpu utilization. I have a few question about the final look.

1. Because this feature is heavily connected with pinning, should this feature be only possible to put on, if pinning is not enabled on the task ? This might be hard to do, but without the pinning, it doesnt work well as the ResourceIndex is not connected to the physical cpu core ( afaik )
2. Should it be on/off feature, or no ?
3. Should the metrics that are shown on the top of the utilization be calculated from the used cpus, if there are any, or that would be misleading ?
4. What is the preference in the color scheme. I have tested cyan -> light blue -> blue, which might be alternative to the original green -> orange -> red. Or as an alternative i have tested modifier like italic and bold. Last but least graying out all of the non used cpus is also an option. I maybe find the last option as the best one, if this feature would be on/off, otherwise I would opt for the change in the color scheme. The italic and bold doesnt seems to change that much, and would maybe feel hard to notice.
   I would like to hear your opinion @Kobzol @spirali :)
