Excellent comparison, Jake! Thank you! I would like to buy one too. However, I am confused about the speed of the ports connected to an external display. It is not for games but for 4K 120 fps 10 bit video. I need 40 Gbps uncompressed (so without DSC - preferably), but especially without chroma subsampling. In psref it is written that both HDMI and DisplayPort 2.1 via USB C, support 8K@60Hz but not how to get that bandwidth (raw or otherwise). Chroma subsampling but even an aggressive DSC (lossy) are undesirable. A true full HDMI 2.1 should support 48 Gbps theoretically but this one I am not sure. Same for DP 2.1 ports if they are full or bottlenecked.

I have no idea I'm afraid, my main monitor is 4K @ 60hz, secondary is 1440p @ 95hz, both via USB-C.

Thanks for the reply, very kind of you. So you are using the USB ports for display. I assume USB C to DisplayPort? If you have the lightweight portable utility "GPU Z" ever you are curious to see the video capability of the USB ports, or for anyone who wants I will leave here a step by step guide.
How to Check UHBR in GPU-Z
Open GPU-Z and click on the Advanced tab at the top.
Select the Dropdown: Click the dropdown menu (which usually defaults to "General") and select Monitor (#) for the active display.
Identify Link Rate: Look for the "Link Rate" or "Max Link Rate" field.
UHBR 20: Displays as 20.0 Gbps per lane (Total 80 Gbps).
UHBR 13.5: Displays as 13.5 Gbps per lane (Total 54 Gbps).
UHBR 10: Displays as 10.0 Gbps per lane (Total 40 Gbps).
HBR3 (DP 1.4): Displays as 8.1 Gbps per lane (Total 32.4 Gbps).

To be honest, I don't expect more than 32 Gbps for this laptop. I don't know why even laptops with a perfectly capable RTX 5090 limit the port speed to 40 or 54 Gbps even though they list DisplayPort 2.1 (capable of 120 Gbps unidirectional). A mystery.
