Windows multi-config build outputs .pyd under build/ladybug/Release/, not build/ladybug/ #51

Description

@Alex-Fleet

tools/python_api/CMakeLists.txt sets:

set_target_properties(_lbug
        PROPERTIES
        LIBRARY_OUTPUT_DIRECTORY "${PROJECT_SOURCE_DIR}/build/ladybug"
        RUNTIME_OUTPUT_DIRECTORY "${PROJECT_SOURCE_DIR}/build/ladybug"
        ARCHIVE_OUTPUT_DIRECTORY "${PROJECT_SOURCE_DIR}/build/ladybug")

but on Windows (MSVC, multi-config generator) CMake appends the configuration name, so _lbug is actually written to:

build/ladybug/Release/_lbug.cp310-win_amd64.pyd

Any script that locates the artifact by the documented path (build/ladybug/*.pyd) finds nothing.

Note: this is CMake's standard multi-config behavior, not a build break. Suggest documenting the <CONFIG> subdirectory in the build docs (or having scripts glob build/ladybug/**).

Environment:

  • ladybug v0.19.0
  • Windows, MSVC multi-config generator
