Markdown formatting breaking within YAML files

I noticed on https://www.mdanalysis.org/team/ that the {{ site.baseurl }} references are not resolving correctly; this may also be happening in other places throughout the website, though admittedly I haven't investigated further.

@jennaswa , can you be specific about what is not working? At a quick glance I don't see any broken links or similar.
