Merge of two items (person) fails

I tried to merge to person items using https://portal.mardi4nfdi.de/wiki/Special:MergeItems

Q80241 and Q82877 - both "Stef van Buuren"

But I get the error:

Failed to merge Items, please resolve any conflicts first.

Error: Conflicting sitelinks for mardi.

Workflow:

First remove the (rendered) profile page from "The ID to merge from"

• Go to the item page of "The ID to merge from"
• Scroll down to the very bottom to the box "Mathematics"
• Click on "Edit"
• Remove the entry

Should be investigated whether this can be automated in a way
