Open a PDF from the library to start reading. Use + in the tab strip to choose another recent PDF or import one from Files. The tab strip sits below the reader header and above the PDF content. The reader's Import PDF button and PDFs sent from other apps also open in the current window's tabs. Opening the same document again selects its existing tab.
Tap a title to switch documents, or its × button to close it. The selected tab has a tinted background and underline. The strip scrolls horizontally when the titles no longer fit, including on iPhone. Closing the selected tab moves to its neighbor. Closing the last tab returns to the library; a separate iPad reader window closes and brings the library forward.
Each tab retains its reader, annotation, and drawing models while it is open. Switching saves reading progress and flushes drawings. Only the selected tab displays a PDFKit view. Open tab lists last for the lifetime of their window; documents and reading progress remain available through Recents after relaunch.
