Is there any way I can change which MC api the plug-in uses? (what I mean is like how a lot of api functions like setVelocity don't exist with the default API it uses)

What exactly do you mean by MC API? Are you referring to the mappings?

The example project uses default mojang mappings, you can change it to use yarn mappings or whatever else if you want.
