I admit I'm a bit weak on Terraform, but I searched through that repository for information about the apex domain (seagl.org) to no avail. Is that being managed manually?

seagl.github.io already has both A and AAAA records so services with CNAMEs pointing there are fine.

You can't have a CNAME at the apex of a domain. It might work with an ALIAS record, but I don't remember enough of the specifics of Route53 to know if that's right. Also, I don't see the existing A records in that repo, which is why I asked if it was manually added elsewhere.

@nivex yeah, it might be that we never imported it into Terraform. Would you be interested in taking that on too? If not I can maybe try and find some time to do that, hopefully, so you can write a patch on top of it.

No, I can't say I'm interested in working through your over-abstracted monstrosity. Even though I provided clear and concise information about the simple change that needs to be made, you opened with "patches welcome" and pointed to a repository that didn't even have the code to implement the change. This is a 5-minute change in the AWS web UI, not something that needs to be scaffolded all to hell.

I ended up here because I saw a post on Mastodon about the SeaGL CfP and, upon seeing the lack of AAAA records but hosting on GitHub, figured this would be an easy win to move the needle on IPv6 deployment. I was considering submitting a talk, but I can't say I'm thrilled at the vibe I've gotten.

Appreciate the interest in assisting SeaGL. We're all volunteers here trying to build a more free/libre/open world where one has many paths to a technological solution.
