Reported Issues on Offline Servers

Issue

julioelmokka and i_echo_i on Discord have both reported issues on an Offline Mode server running SimpleNicks on the latest version.

Both are using Paper 1.21.11.

Steps to Replicate

This requires investigation, replicate issue by running a Paper 1.21.11 server in Offline Mode with SimpleNicks.

• Do nicknames work for players who have not had an online mode account linked to them?

Extra Details

julioelmokka states that /nick works for players but that /nick admin set does not work.

• /nick admin set cannot find the player specified even if they are online.
• Running the offline server as a hub server.
• States that there are almost no plugins to conflict with on the hub server.

i_echo_i states that /nick overall does not work.

• Based on the logs, this is a gameplay server.
• Reported /nick help does not exist anymore, issue noted as SimpleNicks Help Command is missing #18.
• Reported /nick should open an anvil GUI menu, feature request noted as GUI Support for SimpleNicks #19.

Preliminary Testing

Offline mode does not appear to affect these commands. More testing is needed.

Server Configuration

• Paper 1.21.11-100
• Plugins: SimpleNicks, LuckPerms
  • Peashooter101: Not op, has permissions simplenick.nick.set, simplenick.nick.reset, simplenick.nick.delete
• Offline Mode

In addition, this was a fresh install with no player, world, or server data loaded. The only files I started with were the paper jar, eula.txt, server.properties, and my run.sh script.
