Before it, the declared-verb router (#332) classified only units with their own slot: every SpecKit task and every batch was `undeclared`, and the inventory counted work that was not live. Experimental; distributed as `baton-*` GitHub releases (`--latest=false`).

+- **Nested checkouts are no longer inventoried** (#434, #435). The unit, coherence and code-scan walkers skip any sub-directory with its own `.git` (linked worktrees, submodules, nested clones). Walking into them duplicated units under the same id.
+- **Follow-up examples are not work** (#431, #435): HTML comments, fenced blocks and placeholder ids such as `FU-NNN` are ignored, and metadata lines attach only to the entry directly above them.
+- Candidate parents are read from the raw frontmatter, so a Charter the typed parser rejects still counts as a parent. An unreadable Charter disables Charter-level inheritance, and `classify` / `route` say which Charter did, on stderr.
