Quick summary

Introduce customization options for the Live Update chips, allowing users to adjust background colors, icon scaling, and contrast settings to improve visibility and aesthetic integration.

Area

UI / UX

Problem / use case

Currently, the Now Bar chips have a fixed style that doesn't always play well with every app icon or system theme.

  1. Visibility: As seen in some cases (e.g., the X/Twitter app), white icons on light backgrounds become invisible/unreadable.
  2. Aesthetics: Users who theme their Samsung devices via Good Lock or Material You cannot currently match the Now Bar notifications to their setup, making the experience feel less "native" and polished.

Proposed solution

I suggest adding a "Style" or "Customization" section in the settings to allow:

  1. Background Tinting: Option to choose a custom background color for the chip or enable "Dynamic Color" (Material You) support.
  2. Icon Contrast/Borders: An option to add a subtle border, shadow, or a contrasting background circle behind the app icon to prevent white-on-white invisibility.
  3. Padding & Scaling: Ability to adjust the icon size/padding within the chip to prevent icons from touching the edges.
  4. Transparency Slider: Adjust the opacity of the Now Bar notification to better match the user's wallpaper.

Example scenario

Scenario: A user receives a notification from an app with a white logo.
Ideal Behavior: Instead of seeing a blank white square, the user can go into Live Bridge settings and:

  1. Set a specific background color (e.g., dark grey) for that app's live notification.
  2. OR enable a "Force Icon Border" setting that adds a 1px outline to the icon, making it visible again.
  3. This ensures the Now Bar remains functional and beautiful regardless of the app's icon design.

Alternatives considered (optional)

Using third-party overlay apps (like dynamicSpot), but they are not as battery-efficient or "system-native" as Live Bridge's approach with Samsung's Now Bar.

Additional context (optional)

Adding these "Quality of Life" UI improvements would make Live Bridge the most customizable and accessible bridge for Samsung's Live Updates, especially for users who care about a consistent and readable interface.
This request is complementary to the bug report regarding white icon rendering, as manual color controls would act as a perfect workaround for such visibility issues.
