Hmm, would this require changes though? We do everything through podman remote, so as long as the user has a podman connection setup, things should work fine?

It depends how you want to deploy the VM. If we want to use native virtualization instead of nested, libvirt doesn't work on MAC AFAIK

Unless I'm misunderstanding, I don't think this is worth the complexity it'd add to bink. The native VMs would need to still be able to talk to e.g. DNS, the registry etc, which still run in containers in the podman machine.

Nested virt IIUC works fine on M2+. I know it makes e.g. sizing the podman machine trickier, etc. but these are things we can easily document.
