Sorry for not replying earlier.

The problem is that NOPEN just passes the string address to the SIO command with a length of 256 bytes, and the string in your example is followed by a character that is interpreted in the Fujinet device as part of the URL.

Note that this could also happen with an string, if the string had any content before:

  URL$="N:http://api.com/test"
  URL$="N:http://api.com/B"
  NOPEN 1,12,3,URL$

This will try connecting to http://api.com/Best

There is a simple workaround for this - just add a 0 byte at the end of the url - this is the "heart" in ATASIC, this will ensure the string is zero-terminated and the call will always work:

  NOPEN 1,12,3,"N:http://www.textfiles.com/♥"

A proper fix would be to add proper code to FastBasic to terminate the string, will look into it.

If you using the cross compiler (e.g. coding in VSCODE), you can also append the heart by adding $0 after the string like this:

NOPEN 1,12,3,"N:http://www.textfiles.com/"$0

Yes, you could also use that syntax in the Atari IDE, it always works.

I check about adding the termination automatically, it is not easy.

Currently, FastBasic has code to add a $9B at the end of filenames and other strings passed to OPEN, the problem is that FastBasic uses a buffer of 128 bytes to copy the original string and add the termination, but the "NOPEN" call can use up to 256 bytes of bufer.

IMHO, it is simpler to specify to the user that the string should be terminated on $0 (or $9B).
