Love the library. Have you thought of implementing a print_xyz to the FigureCanvasDrawille so that one can also implement the savefig functionality on mpl Figures? There are some details here on how to implement it:

A use case I've come across is to commit some plots to a repository and have it be part of a testing framework. Adding the .png would be really painful to have in the repository but having plots like these to test against would be perfect.
I would also be happy to implement this feature as well if you think it would be worth it.
