PODM and PSME installed on the same server?

i have installed PODM. But i have only one server. If i installed PSME on the same sever with the PODM installed, can this work well?

We have not try such configuration, but I think it may not work as PODM uses DHCP to discovery PSMEs. The best approach is to use at least two servers. One for PODM and one for PSME.

Answer to your questions is: yes, it will work. However, you can not use DHCP-based discovery (since the PSME service is running on the same machine). You have to add new service by adding entry to the /tmp/services.list file. Be aware that this file is not distributed with PODM packages and have to be created manually by user.

In your case, you should add the following line:
http://127.0.0.1:8888/rest/v1 psme

Please, remember to run PSME stubs for Network and Compute agents. Without them PSME will not present any information at all.

Thanks very much for your help! It's very helpful.

I have tried running the psme(psme-rest-server, psme-network-stubs, psme-compute-stubs) and podm on the same server. Config "http://127.0.0.1:8888/rest/v1 psme" in "/tmp/services.list".

By "http://127.0.0.1:8888/rest/v1/Drawers/1/ComputeModules", i can see 2 ComputeModues info updated.
But there is no effect on "https://127.0.0.1:8443/redfish/v1" and other podm resources (such as "/redfish/v1/Systems" or "/redfish/v1/Systems/{systemID}/Processors").

What can i do to update podm with psme information?

First of all, sorry for the delayed response.

Unfortunately, running two services on the same machine is not a supported configuration - the solution that we have proposed was made only for development, so we cannot guarantee it will work in every environment.

However, you may try to check if /tmp/services.list file has proper permissions and can be read by PODM service. Also please include logs from /var/log/rsa/rsa.log file - we will try to figure out what is the problem.
