Question: Am I supposed to be able to modify the size of the VM after its original creation?

I created a VM of 300GB, but I have come into space issues. When I edit the size in vms.cfg, it changes the number that is reported below -

(vms.cfg HddGB line)

However, on the VM itself, it reports this size -

Is there anything I missed, or is it truly not possible for me to change the size of the VM after creation?

And, if there isn't a way to change the size, is there a way for me to preserve the data and transfer it to a new VM of larger size?
