Cinnamon native OSK does not initially enter text in Authentication Required dialogs
Steps to reproduce
Restart Linux Mint 22.3.
After Cinnamon starts, open an application that triggers an “Authentication Required” dialog, such as Brave.
Open Cinnamon's built-in On-Screen Keyboard.
Click in the password field.
Click normal letter keys such as A, B or D on the On-Screen Keyboard.
The letters are not entered.
Click Ctrl, Alt, Enter or Escape on the On-Screen Keyboard.
Normal letter input immediately starts working.
Expected behavior
The Cinnamon On-Screen Keyboard should enter normal characters into the password field immediately, without requiring another key to be pressed first.
Additional information
This happens most often immediately after a system restart.
Closing and reopening the On-Screen Keyboard while the Authentication Required dialog remains open does not fix the problem.
Clicking directly in the password field before opening the On-Screen Keyboard also does not fix the problem.
Once Ctrl, Alt, Enter or Escape is clicked on the On-Screen Keyboard, normal character input starts working and generally continues to work normally afterwards.
The physical keyboard is not involved in this issue. All relevant key presses are performed by clicking the keys on the On-Screen Keyboard with the mouse.
The login/user-switching screen uses a different, larger On-Screen Keyboard and does not have this problem.
System: Linux Mint 22.3 Zena, Cinnamon 6.6.9, X11, Intel HD Graphics 520. Sticky Keys, Slow Keys and Bounce Keys are disabled. IBus is enabled and running.
