Ghost jpeg exports on Mac

When batch exporting jpegs to a specified folder, everything looks like it is going fine, but when you look in the folder it is empty. When re-exporting, it asks to overwrite files so it seems they were written but again when looking at the folder in finder they do not exist.

I found the files, they were written to same source as originals and not honouring destination set
