I'm just reporting that with backbone 0.9.9, the app breaks down just because of a tiny difference:
this.el inside a View refers no longer to the jquery / zepto object. Instead the should use this.$el. That's all! I've changed on my version of sandbox, and everything works fine with backbone 0.9.9
