Keep the raw local schema in LogStreamMetadata.schema.
restore_global_schema returns the canonical schema, and setup_logstream_metadata stores it as the metadata schema. Event::process passes its RecordBatch directly to Stream::push, which stores it in memory without schema adaptation. recordbatches_cloned then adapts that batch to the canonical metadata schema before applying the global resolution.
For a raw batch with a: Int64 and canonical metadata with a: Utf8, adapt_batch selects the a array by name and calls RecordBatch::try_new(...).unwrap(). This can panic before resolution.rename_batch can rename the field.
Keep the raw local schema in LogStreamMetadata.schema. Call restore_global_schema to populate Stream::global_schema, then use the raw schema for metadata.

+ .await?;
+ stream_ref.updated_schema(arrow_schema.clone())
} else {
stream_ref.updated_schema(arrow_schema.clone())
};The JSON path renames detected conflicts before fields_mismatch, so this finding is about the raw in-memory batch path, not direct JSON rejection.

Review comment at @src/migration/mod.rs around lines 495 - 513:
In the schema selection flow, keep the raw local schema in metadata: call
restore_global_schema to populate Stream’s global schema, then use
stream_ref.updated_schema(arrow_schema.clone()) as the selected schema instead
of using restore_global_schema’s return value. Preserve the existing
updated_schema path when the condition is false.

stored schema hash. In src/storage/mod.rs lines 830–866, store and retrieve
serialized GlobalSchema values instead of raw bytes, remove the invalid
get_object call and undefined stale_version, and use the earlier hash as the

- Around line 140-162: Update the Some(version) branch in put_schema_if to
perform an atomic compare-and-swap: use get_object_versioned to obtain the body

GlobalSchema.hash differs from version, and write with PutMode::Update using
that validator instead of unconditional client.put. Treat a lost
conditional-write race as false so the retry loop can proceed.
