PML =50, whether free surface is set to Yes or No and the result seems to be the same. I don't know why.

In addition, on line 154 of base.py, "self.nz_pml = self.nz + self.pml * (2 - self.fs)". Can you explain what it means and where self.nz_pml is used

Thank you for your question. After testing, I find what you have described is indeed true. It seems that the free-surface flag does not alter anything at all. I did not notice this issue as I always set free surface as 'True' in my modelings. Please leave the free-surface flag as it is.

One thing that needs to clarify here is that the modeled waveforms from SWIT-1.0, with the free-surface condition, have been well benchmarked against the third-party code.
