Centered barcodes

Hi, I've not been able to anchor centered a barcode, so when it's edited it expands to the right and gets off-centered.

Could you please tell me how to do it, or if it is not a feature, please implement it?

Hi Jake, thanks for the report!

You're right, this isn't possible yet: when you drag the right handle, the left edge stays put, so all the growth goes to the right and the center drifts. My plan is to add a modifier key that resizes symmetrically around the center (both sides moving at once), and I'll prioritize it.

Until then, a workaround to keep the barcode centered where it is: place a shape over the barcode matching its size, resize the barcode, then select both (shape last), switch the align reference to "Key object" and hit the horizontal-center button. The barcode re-centers on the shape; delete the shape afterwards.

I'll update this issue when it lands.

This is done and merging now, so it'll be in the next release.

Hold Alt/Option while dragging a resize handle and the barcode grows from its center instead of from the opposite edge.

I meant resize on value change. Does it include that?

Whoops, no. I misunderstood your request then, sorry.
That's a separate mechanism, and a valuable one.
I've reopened this and it's back on my to-do list.
