A marketer who builds his own software with AI. I show you how.
I'm not an engineer. I still ship real apps, tools, and websites, then take them apart in the open so you can build your own. The trick was never code. It's knowing the right order: test the idea on real research before you build, build it, then put it in front of real people.
I'm a marketer by trade. Turns out that's the advantage. I know what's actually worth building, and now I can build it.
🔨 Forge — Idea to validated MVP for any software, even if you can't code. Validates the idea with a synthetic audience before building anything, then builds and tests it. My whole process, open-sourced as a Claude Code skill.
🧭 Deadreckon — Offline land navigation from a photo of a paper topo map, built from the Army field manual (TC 3-25.26). Calibrate the grid, plot GPS, shoot azimuths, no signal required. Next.js PWA, wrapped for iOS with Capacitor. Live at deadreckon.adamgarceau.com.
📅 Nudge — A voice-first iOS day planner with spatial audio, haptics, and an AI assistant that reads and writes your schedule. My wife is blind. I built her a planner she can actually use. Swift 6, SwiftUI, CloudKit.
✒️ Inkwell — A free Windows PDF editor with CAC/PIV smart-card signing, because Army Reserve paperwork shouldn't need a $200 subscription. Electron, pdf-lib, 261 passing tests.
📀 dvd-monitor — A zero-cost Cloudflare Worker dashboard that watches a home media-ripping pipeline from my phone.
Not on GitHub yet: a GoHighLevel to Google Ads offline-conversion pipeline (n8n), a Claude Code token-cost dashboard, and a homeschool content engine. Ask.
Demand generation, brand strategy, unit economics, and turning all of it into tools that actually run. A few real numbers:
- Owned the pipeline number at a $20M technology-services company: $142 blended CAC, 3.3-month payback, built the model myself
- Validated product packages with a synthetic audience that matched what real customers went on to buy
- Cut an ad budget 4x for the same number of sales by targeting the right people
- Built a company website solo that a firm quoted at $20k, in under 30 days
Building in public, making videos about how I do it, and open to the right marketing leadership role.
