  • Fixed updater tests to compare the returned executable path with the independently resolved target, including macOS temporary directories reached through symlinks.
  • Updated the updater terminal drive to stay in General and select the current automatic updates row.
  • Preserved installation bytes, executable mode, checksum mismatch, download timeout, row-specific hint/value checks, terminal widths, and navigation bounds.

Validation:

  • The original updater suite failed two path assertions after successful installs; the corrected full suite passed.
  • The original drive captured all 14 state fixtures but failed its stale settings navigation; current on/off settings were independently verified at both widths.
  • make build and BASE=3cc50a0fdff621c8918529c82807398089e23175 make pr-ready passed on 9dcc05c, including the new prompt-page gate; the full touched updater suite passed fresh on its first gate run.
  • The complete repaired drive passed all 14 state fixtures and four real on/off settings captures at 80/120 columns on the rebased candidate. One earlier attempt before rebasing captured a blank failure-fixture frame; an isolated original-timing probe and subsequent complete matrices passed without changing assertions or waits. The initial failure is retained and its cause is unconfirmed.
  • Independent source review passed with no blocking findings; no production code or security settings changed.
