Cybersecurity engineering, security research, and trustworthy security tooling.
Averlyth is an independent cybersecurity engineering organization focused on the design, development, validation, and long-term maintenance of security tools and research platforms.
Our engineering work prioritizes reproducibility, traceability, secure defaults, explicit authorization, verifiable evidence, and disciplined software governance.
Obscuryx Security Platform is the cybersecurity engineering ecosystem developed under Averlyth.
Its components are designed around specialized responsibilities including reconnaissance, attack-surface analysis, security telemetry, deception, detection, and investigation.
Projects are incorporated into Averlyth only after their technical state, repository governance, security controls, documentation, and project ownership have been reviewed.
CicadaPort is a specialized TCP reconnaissance platform for authorized security assessments.
Its architecture separates responsibilities across:
- Python — orchestration, CLI/TUI, sessions, reporting, and integration.
- Rust — specialized TCP scanning engine.
- Go — service and banner evidence collection.
CicadaPort is maintained as part of the Obscuryx Security Platform.
Repository: Averlyth/port-scanner
The repository is currently named
port-scanner; the canonical product name is CicadaPort.
Averlyth projects are developed under a controlled engineering model centered on:
- authorized security testing only;
- secure and conservative defaults;
- reproducible technical evidence;
- signed and traceable changes;
- explicit interfaces and contracts;
- automated testing and CI enforcement;
- supply-chain integrity;
- deterministic release governance;
- preservation of historical authorship and provenance.
Security tooling must not silently expand its operational scope or introduce unreviewed security-sensitive capabilities.
Repositories under Averlyth are organization-owned and governed.
Historical commits, signed tags, releases, authorship records, and engineering evidence are preserved when projects are transferred into the organization. Organizational ownership does not rewrite or erase their original provenance.
Changes to protected projects are expected to pass their applicable review, testing, security, and supply-chain controls before integration.
Averlyth was founded by @DrewSC13.
@DrewSC13 is the Founder and GitHub Organization Owner of Averlyth, as well as the original author of projects migrated from the DrewSC13 personal namespace into the organization.
Transferred repositories retain their original Git history and authorship while Averlyth becomes their canonical organizational owner and maintainer.
Averlyth security projects are intended for legitimate research, defensive engineering, controlled laboratories, and systems or networks for which explicit authorization has been granted.
Security vulnerabilities affecting an Averlyth project should be reported through the private vulnerability-reporting mechanism of the corresponding repository whenever available.
Do not publish sensitive vulnerability details, credentials, secrets, or unauthorized proof-of-concept activity through public issues.
Averlyth is actively consolidating its cybersecurity engineering portfolio and the Obscuryx Security Platform.
Additional projects will be incorporated only after their technical, security, documentation, and governance baselines have been reviewed and validated.
