Shouldn't the next version number be 1.4.10 and not 1.5.0?

This would be based on the same reasoning as discussed in [1].

Also, this is not much of an issue, but shouldn't the dictionary date of the earlier version (the one in the rc-branch) and the development one be closer to the release date? Or will this be changed before tagging the rc branch?

I thought we'd just let the dates adjust as we make changes. Any editorial change to the rc- branch will update the date there, and if backported to main will also change the date. I'm not sure what the eventual official release date will be.
