[HOLD until r1006 cutover] Address book → r1006 (genesis 0xa3651a27…) - #20
Conversation
Tests pin the r1006 book (genesis 0xa3651a27…, AA factory 0x6ee3b590…, member SBT 0x88316513…, no LiquidStakingPool or other contracts missing from r1006 block 0, no r1005 address), the r1006 predictAddress(0x4242…) vector, and a block-0 guard on CitrateClient sends, the node-signed manager writes (pinned_send) and verify_wallet_address_on_chain. r1005 and r1006 share chain id 40204, so the chain-id pins cannot tell them apart. Stubs (verify_network no-op, WrongNetworkError, genesis_hash() "", the expected_genesis_hash keyword) keep the old behaviour so the tests fail on assertions. …s guard; 0.7.0 Vendored federation_contract.json re-synced verbatim with scripts/sync_contract.py from the citrate-federation gen-contract output for the r1006 book (citrate-chain contracts/addresses/r1006/40204.json, final since a857443e). Contracts not in r1006 block 0 (LiquidStakingPool and the other retired entries) leave contract.contracts(); AA factory / paymaster and membership move to their r1006 addresses. StakingManager says LiquidStakingPool is not in the r1006 book. r1005 and r1006 share chain id 40204, so the SDK now reads block 0 and raises WrongNetworkError (WRONG_NETWORK) on another genesis before CitrateClient signs, before a manager's first write (pinned_send), and before verify_wallet_address_on_chain trusts the book's factory. expected_genesis_hash= overrides; None skips (a local devnet). sync_contract.py / check-contract-drift.sh honour CITRATE_FEDERATION_DIR and the sync requires chain.genesisHash. Test RPC fakes that stand in for a 40204 node answer block 0. README: r1006 book, network guard, devnet opt-out, tokenomics line. Version 0.7.0. [MAC independent review] CHANGES REQUESTED at a1d832b
Reviewer: MAC-lane independent reviewer agent (did not author this PR). Not Codex, not DGX. Per owner decision 2026-10-23 this review stands in for the Codex and DGX gates.
Reviewed live head a1d832b (matches the lane note). The PR stays held for the r1006 cutover in any case.
Blocking
keyshare-wheel-tripwireis red at head and green on main, so this PR caused it.scripts/check_keyshare_wheel.py's RPC fixture (about lines 71-81) does not answereth_getBlockByNumber. The defaultCitrateClientnow callsverify_network()before signing, so the built-wheel key-share assertions never run.- I reproduced it locally:
WrongNetworkError: cannot read block 0. - Fix: answer block 0 with the wheel's vendored
genesis_hash(), which keeps the guard in the built-wheel path. Alternatively, passexpected_genesis_hash=None. This is the Codex P1.
- The manager path's "failure not cached" property is not pinned by any test.
- In
_chain_guard.pinned_send, I movedmanager._chain_verified = Trueaboveassert_genesis(...). That caches a failed check as verified, so a second write on the wrong network would send. - With that mutant the full suite still passes: 865 passed.
- The code is correct today. Add a test that calls a manager write twice against a wrong-genesis node and asserts both writes refuse and nothing was sent. The client equivalent (
test_client_failure_is_not_cached) already kills its mutant.
- In
Non-blocking (follow-up)
- Manager reads (
ComputeManager._eth_calland the other managers' view helpers) use book addresses without the genesis check. Only writes (pinned_send) andCitrateClientsigning are gated. On the wrong network such reads return data from unrelated contracts. Consider gating views too, as sdk-jsComputeRefundsdoes, or document the limit. The README currently says "before … sends a transaction", which is accurate. - With
chain_idset to a non-vendored value, the vendored genesis check is skipped implicitly. That is acceptable, because the chain-id pin already separates those networks.
Verified (holds)
Generated files
- The r1006 book is identical at chain e4ed35d5, at d939d4ec and at main.
scripts/sync_contract.pyagainst the fed#412 head:--checkpasses, and a rewrite is byte-identical to the federation artifact.
r1005 addresses: none of the 87 r1005-only addresses appears outside one intentional historical fixture: tests/test_identity_wallet.py:31, the formula check that reproduces the r1005 live answer.
predictAddress vector: the pinned 0xEFf9CC17… matches an independent cast create2 computation from the r1006 factory and implementation. It must be re-read from the live factory after cutover.
Guard behaviour
assert_genesisrefuses a wrong genesis withWRONG_NETWORK.- It fails closed on an RPC exception, an empty hash and a None hash. These cases are parametrized tests, and the mutant that passes on an unreadable block 0 is killed.
- The client failure is not cached (mutant killed).
Noneopt-out is explicit (mutant killed).- Send without the guard: mutant killed. Wallet verify without the guard: mutant killed.
Tests: pytest, without tests/test_economics_simulation.py (52 slow tests, skipped locally): 865 passed and 10 skipped. Base had 845 passed, so +20.
- CI
locked-envran the full suite, including the economics tests: 878 passed and 49 skipped. That job fails only at pip-audit, and it fails the same way on main. - Red: with the head tests on base source, 11 existing or updated tests fail on assertions, and the new test file fails at import.
Lint and types: ruff is clean. mypy on citrate_sdk has no issues.
Versions and docs
- 0.7.0 is consistent across pyproject,
__version__and uv.lock. publish.yml requires the typed version to match pyproject. - README and CHANGELOG are accurate, and the README carries "Tokenomics are not yet determined; see docs.citrate.ai."
Standard: not met. A PR-caused tripwire is red, and the manager failure-not-cached property lacks a biting test.
…k 0 refuses - test_manager_failure_is_not_cached: two writes on a wrong-genesis node both refuse, block 0 is read twice, nothing is sent, the manager stays unverified. - test_manager_rechecks_after_a_failure_and_then_caches_success: fail, then the node reports r1006 and the next write sends; success is then cached. - test_manager_fails_closed_when_block_0_is_unreadable (RPC error, None, ""), twice in a row. Red against the mutant that marks the manager verified before the genesis check (5 of 5 fail); green at a1d832b, whose code is correct. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> Claude-Session: https://claude.ai/code/session_01FPJzHLHkCexnt8jGuPzvMn Signed-off-by: Larry Klosowski <larryklosowski@proton.me>
scripts/check_keyshare_wheel.py: the capturing RPC answers block 0 with the wheel's vendored genesis_hash(), so deploy_model passes the guard and the key-share assertions run again. It also requires a client on another genesis to refuse with WRONG_NETWORK before sending, requires the real deploy to have read block 0, and points the client at port 1 (never a node; every RPC is stubbed). CHANGELOG: test counts and the manager-read scope. Revert check: the a1d832b script fails on the same wheel ("cannot read block 0"), and the new script passes. It still fails on its real conditions; I checked this with three mutated wheels:
2. Manager failure not cached. New tests:
The mutant that sets 3. Manager reads (non-blocking): not gated in this PR. Noted in the CHANGELOG.

[MAC independent review] APPROVED at e3103d8
Reviewer: MAC-lane independent reviewer agent (did not author this PR). Not Codex, not DGX. Per owner decision 2026-10-23 this review stands in for the Codex and DGX gates.
Hold: merge + publish at r1006 public cutover only, with owner go.
Re-review at live head e3103d8 (tests dd5be49). Both blockers from my review at a1d832b are addressed.
1. Wheel tripwire. scripts/check_keyshare_wheel.py's stub RPC now answers block 0 with the wheel's own vendored genesis_hash(). Its URL points at port 1, so it never reaches a real node.
- It adds a step 0: the wheel's client must refuse another genesis with
WRONG_NETWORK, and nothing may be sent. - It requires at least one block-0 read before the deploy.
- A local run passes. CI
keyshare-wheel-tripwireis green.
2. Manager "failure not cached". New tests: two writes against a wrong-genesis node both refuse, nothing is sent, block 0 is read twice and _chain_verified stays False. A fail-then-succeed case rereads and then caches success. A parametrized test covers unreadable block 0 (RPC error, None, empty) on the manager path.
- My earlier surviving mutant (mark verified before the genesis check) is now killed: 5 fail.
- The pass-on-unreadable mutant is killed: 2 fail.
- No production source changed in this round, so these are regression tests for behaviour that was already correct, and the mutants are what show they bite.
Manager reads left ungated: acceptable for this release. The managers (ComputeManager, LearningManager, StakingManager and the others) take contract addresses only from the caller's contract_addresses. There is no fallback to the vendored book (addrs = contract_addresses or {}). So the SDK never pairs a book address with an unchecked read. The places that do use book addresses are the CitrateClient signing path, manager writes via pinned_send, and verify_wallet_address_on_chain with book defaults, and all of these are gated. The CHANGELOG now says reads are not gated and why, which is accurate. Gating views would still be a reasonable follow-up hardening.
Counts (pytest --ignore=tests/test_integration.py --ignore=tests/test_economics_simulation.py):
- head: 831 passed, 6 skipped
- a1d832b: 826 passed
- base main: 806 passed
- The 52 economics tests were skipped locally; CI
locked-envruns the full suite.
CI at head: keyshare-wheel-tripwire, python / test, contract-drift, uv-lock-check, secret-scan and CodeQL are green. locked-env ran the full suite including economics (883 passed, 49 skipped), then failed only at pip-audit, which fails the same way on main and is not caused by this PR. ci is the aggregate of locked-env.
Everything else verified at a1d832b still holds: sync identity with the fed#412 artifact, no r1005 addresses, the 0xEFf9CC17… vector (to be re-read on-chain after cutover), version 0.7.0 consistent, and the tokenomics notice in the README.
Standard: met.

The locked-env pip-audit gate fails on black 26.3.1, certifi 2026.2.25, pillow 12.3.0 and setuptools 84.0.0. Lockfile-only bump to black 26.10.1, certifi 2026.10.23, setuptools 84.2.1 and pillow 13.0.0 (Python >= 3.11; pillow 13 drops 3.10, so the 3.10 marker keeps 12.3.0, dev-only via matplotlib). pyproject.toml is unchanged. Reviewer: MAC-lane independent reviewer agent (did not author this PR). Not Codex, not DGX. Per owner decision 2026-10-23 this review stands in for the Codex and DGX gates.
Delta since the approval at e3103d8 is one uv.lock-only commit; pyproject.toml is unchanged. The red "locked-env" at e3103d8 was its pip-audit step (883 tests passed there) on new advisories against black 26.3.1, certifi 2026.2.25, pillow 12.3.0 and setuptools 84.0.0. The lock now pins black 26.10.1, certifi 2026.10.23, setuptools 84.2.1 and pillow 13.0.0 for Python >= 3.11. Pillow 13 drops 3.10, so the 3.10 marker keeps 12.3.0. That copy is dev-only (via matplotlib) and outside the 3.11 audit gate.
Checked locally with uv 0.12.19: uv lock --check OK, uv sync --frozen --all-extras --python 3.11, ruff clean, mypy clean (87 files), pytest 883 passed (tests/test_integration.py ignored, no live RPC), pip-audit "No known vulnerabilities found". CI at 3ecb585 is all green, including locked-env, uv-lock-check and the aggregate "ci". Codex's clean result at e3103d8 still covers the source.
