Implemented a non-destructive developer environment diagnostic utility for NotifyChain to identify missing or incompatible local prerequisites before starting the development stack.
Implementation
Added the executable scripts/check-prereqs.sh preflight diagnostic script.
Added a centralized environment check that audits the local machine for required development tools, runtimes, package managers, and system dependencies.
Added clear diagnostic output to distinguish available, missing, and incompatible prerequisites.
Added actionable installation guidance for missing or incorrectly configured dependencies.
Ensured the utility performs diagnostics only and does not automatically install packages or modify the host system.
Added doctor and check:env package commands for convenient local execution.
Used a standard Bash entry point with safe shell handling for predictable developer and CI environments.
Result
NotifyChain now has a single, fast preflight command developers can run before booting the stack to identify environment issues early and receive clear guidance without making automatic changes to their machines.
