question: How should I interpret the project completion rate, pass rate, and fail
rate shown for the ML Zoomcamp projects page?
sort_order: 18

The “Pass” and “Failed” numbers (and the pass/fail percentages) reflect outcomes for the evaluated project submissions. “Total Project Outcomes Evaluated” is the total count of projects that were actually reviewed/grading.

The “Project completion rate” shown in the left panel is different: it represents the percentage of *all enrolled* students who completed the project (regardless of whether they later passed or failed). So it’s normal for this percentage to be lower than the pass rate, since many enrolled students may not submit a project at all.
