Summary

Freezes the contributor-facing post-MVP architecture before the Stellar Wave backlog is created.

What this establishes

  • stable v1 command and controlled-template surface;
  • frozen architecture/security rules contributors must preserve;
  • protected/core paths and contracts requiring explicit maintainer review;
  • contributor-friendly extension zones for parallel work;
  • post-v1 capabilities that require an architecture issue/ADR before implementation;
  • parallel-contribution and conflict rules;
  • review triggers for dependencies, configuration, filesystem/process/network/deployment/release changes.

CONTRIBUTING.md now points Stellar Wave contributors to the architecture freeze before implementation.

This is intentionally architecture/contributor governance only; it does not add product behavior.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Documentation
    • Added architecture guidance for StellarForge CLI Wave contributors, covering stabilized command and template surfaces, configuration rules, safety boundaries, deployment, secrets, errors, CI, dependencies, and supported runtimes.
    • Documented protected areas, extension opportunities, and when architecture issues or ADRs are required.
    • Updated contribution guidelines with architecture review, clarification expectations for architecture-expanding changes, and public vulnerability disclosure guidance.

Architecture rules and contributor checklist
docs/contributing/wave-architecture.md, CONTRIBUTING.md
The architecture guide defines frozen v1 surfaces, protected contracts, extension areas, post-v1 gates, sequencing rules, and review triggers. The checklist adds links to architecture review, clarification of expanding assumptions, and SECURITY.md guidance.

The architecture-freeze guidance may be changed without the specialized maintainer review it describes for protected architecture policy. Clarify and enforce the intended ownership before merging, or explicitly accept this limited governance gap.

Protect docs/contributing/wave-architecture.md from unreviewed policy changes.

The protected-surfaces list and review triggers omit this file. .github/CODEOWNERS has no matching entry, and docs/contributing/repository-ruleset.md is only intended configuration; it does not enforce settings. A contributor can therefore change the architecture-freeze policy without the required maintainer architecture/security review. Add the exact path to both lists.
