Hey, I'm Aaron 👋

DevOps / Platform / Infrastructure Engineer based in Richmondshire, UK. I build things that make infrastructure boring in the best possible way — repeatable, observable, and ideally not on fire at 2am.

10+ years across the stack: from bare metal and VMware, through on-prem Linux estates, all the way up to multi-cloud Kubernetes platforms on GCP, AWS, and Azure. I got into DevOps the honest way — broke things, fixed them, automated the fixing, then automated the breaking too (on purpose, in staging).

Production-grade FTP/SFTP stack compiled from source on UBI9 minimal. Kubernetes-deployable via Helm, GCS-backed storage via gcsfuse, runtime user provisioning from JSON, fully externalised logging. → vsftpd_container + vsftpd-helm

📚 Bookstack on Kubernetes

K8s manifests for self-hosted Bookstack — because good documentation infrastructure deserves proper infrastructure. → k8-bookstack

🤖 MediaWiki MCP Server

Model Context Protocol server for MediaWiki — lets AI assistants read and interact with wiki content natively. Built this week because why not make wikis smarter. → mediawiki-mcp

🤖 Zoho Mail MCP Server

MCP seerver for interacting with my Zoho mailbox, experimental at this stage. Lets AI agents read my unread emails, and summarise for me.

🌐 Outside of work

I'm active on the DN42 network — a decentralised, non-production internet where engineers mess around with real BGP, OSPF, and peering agreements for fun. It's essentially a homelab that spans the globe.

I also enjoy indoor bouldering and wall climbing.
