feat: KSeF API 2.8.1 support and reference-client gaps — v0.14.0 - #52
Conversation
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
Pull the live TEST spec (build 2.8.1-te-20260922.2), regenerate the per-domain chunks and bump the current-spec version mentions in the docs. Model changes follow in separate commits. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
The 2.8.1 spec lists onlineSessionClose, batchSessionClose, anonymous and global as required in EffectiveApiRateLimits; per ADR-008 the model mirrors them as required. -1 marks an unlimited window (RATE_LIMIT_UNLIMITED) and the CLI table shows it as "unlimited". The test-data override shape is unchanged in the spec and stays as is. Review fix for 6c9b762 (codex-review F1). Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
…ndirectly KSeF API 2.8.1 accepts CollectiveIdentifierManage in entity and indirect grants and reports it in the entity-grants query scope; the entity and indirect permission unions now include it. E2E covers both grants and the recipient-side entity-grants query on TEST. Review fix for 6c9b762 (codex-review F2). Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
… 2.8.1 The entity/indirect grant expansion shipped in KSeF API 2.8.1, not 2.8.0. Review fix for 78fe740 (codex-review P3). Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
isBadRequestProblem rejected the whole body when any errors[] item had no description, which KSeF does send. The response then fell through to the legacy branch: a bare KSeFApiError, error codes lost and the 21470 unknown-key check skipped. The guard now requires only a numeric code; description stays optional (still must be a string when present) and details mirrors the spec as optional and nullable. The CLI renders a code-only item as "[code]". Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
KSeF API 2.8.0 returns 400 with code 21184 when sending into an existing online session is paused; MF recommends opening a new session. RestClient now raises KSeFSessionUnavailableError (a KSeFApiError) for it in both problem-details and legacy bodies, ahead of 21470 since a key-rotation retry would hit the same unavailable session. No automatic session reopening. Also add KSeFErrorCode entries for 21184, 21418, 71004 and 71005. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
KSeFSessionUnavailableError and KSeFUnknownPublicKeyError built from an RFC 7807 body kept only a message, so CLI and JSON output lost errors[], traceId, instance and timestamp that KSeFBadRequestError used to show for the same response. Both now store these fields and expose them via toProblemFields(); legacy bodies are unchanged. Review fix for a6f8b80 (codex-review P2). Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
…validation KSeF API 2.8.0 adds X-KSeF-Feature: subject-identifier-validation on session open (TEST only), which rejects invoices with an invalid NIP or internal identifier (status 450). Session services and workflows now take a features value (string or array; upoVersion stays as a deprecated alias) and the CLI gets --feature on session open. Observed on TEST 2.8.1: KSeF applies only one feature value per request; a comma-separated or repeated header is accepted with 201 but none of the values takes effect. More than one distinct value is therefore rejected client-side with KSeFValidationError before any request. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
A string such as 'upo-v4-3,subject-identifier-validation' passed the one-feature guard as a single value; KSeF accepts that header yet applies neither feature. Every feature input is now split on commas, trimmed and deduplicated before the guard, in services, workflows and the CLI alike. Review fix for 54a3036 (codex-review P2). Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
…ntifier generate now rejects, before any request, what KSeF would refuse anyway: malformed KSeF numbers, invoices of different sellers (71004, seller NIP taken from the number prefix), repeated numbers (71005), a description over 512 characters and an incomplete payment. Numbers are compared as written: on TEST the 35- and 36-character forms of one number are looked up separately (71001), not reported as duplicates. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
…ices Async generators for the three continuation-token endpoints (query, by KSeF number, invoices) yield whole pages with the next page's token, so a caller can stop and resume without skipping or repeating items; collect-all helpers flatten them. A repeated token or exceeding maxPages throws KSeFPaginationError, carrying the token to resume from. The CLI gets --all on list, by-ksef and invoices. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
The CLI now reads KSeF codes from problem details, legacy exception lists and error classes that carry a code, and prints an actionable hint for 21184, 21418, 71004, 71005, 21470 and 21208, with 21405 as a generic fallback. A code hint replaces the HTTP-status hint; JSON output stays hint-free. Adds KSeFErrorCode.InvalidInput (21405). Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
Online session handles (including resumed ones) get waitForInvoice, which polls the invoice status until it is final and returns it with its KSeF number, or throws KSeFInvoiceRejectedError carrying KSeF's code, details and extensions - for a 440 duplicate that includes the original KSeF number, so a lost send response can be recovered. A failed session in waitForUpo and in the batch upload workflows now throws KSeFSessionFailedError with the session status instead of a plain Error (same message prefix). The CLI renders both, with a hint naming the original KSeF number for duplicates. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
The PDF renderer decoded byte input as UTF-8 only. It now detects UTF-16LE/BE by BOM or by the leading '<' byte pair, decodes BE by byte swap (no ICU dependency, ./pdf stays isomorphic) and strips any BOM; the QR hash is still computed over the original bytes. The CLI pdf command uses the same decoding to detect the document type, so UTF-16 UPO and FA(2) files no longer fall through to the FA(3) template. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
Fill the 0.14.0 changelog, fold the new capabilities into the README feature list and the docs homepage cards, and fix stale error-hierarchy trees, error parse order and test counts across the docs. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
The failed-session error keeps the old message prefix but appends the status details when KSeF reports any; the changelog and docs promised an unchanged message. tests.md counted all 39 e2e files as live although 31, 35 and 36 run locally, and mislabelled the auth of specs 31 and 33. Review fix for cbf61f7 (codex-review P2, P3). Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

Per CodeRabbit PR review on #52: the step list in http-resilience.md still gave 429 > 401 > 403 > generic, contradicting the diagram and the Error Dispatch section (400 > 429 > 401 > 403 > 410 > generic). Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
…e units A review suggested counting the 512-character description limit in code points, as JSON Schema maxLength does. On TEST (2026-10-03) KSeF counts UTF-16 code units: 256 emoji (512 units) are accepted, 257 emoji (514 units, 257 code points) are rejected with 21405 "You entered 514 characters". The check stays on .length; a comment, a unit test and a docs note record why. …ts cap When ksef collective-identifier --all needed more than 1000 pages, the collect helper threw KSeFPaginationError before any rows were printed; the error held the first unread token but its message, the CLI output and the JSON output all dropped it, so the run could not be resumed. The message now names the token, the error carries a reason (max-pages / repeated-token), and the CLI prints a hint to resume with --continue <token> - only for max-pages, since resuming a repeated token would loop again. --json includes reason and continuationToken. Unit suite green (3214 tests); lint and lint:md clean. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com> Claude-Session: https://claude.ai/code/session_01XqK6EwvcBmz5Y6FcF1bNLC

This bullet reports that the bundled specification changed, but not what API v2.8.1 support gives package users. Replace it with a user-facing statement such as “The client now supports KSeF API v2.8.1.”
As per coding guidelines, changelog entries must describe feature purpose and user-facing impact, not implementation details.

Summary
KSeF API 2.8.0 / 2.8.1 is on PROD since 23.09.2026, while the vendored spec was still 2.7.1. This release syncs the spec, mirrors the 2.8.x contract in the models, and lands the gaps found in a refresh of the reference clients (C# 2.8.1, Java 3.0.29, smekcio Py/TS, ksef2, lkow TS, ksef-pdf 1.1.1).
