feat(app): offer the source of the running version to network users - #381
WaveFlow Server is AGPL-3.0-only, and §13 requires a network service to offer its corresponding source to everyone who uses it remotely. It did not: no page of the web client linked to the source, and the OpenAPI document named the licence without a URL. This closes that gap, which docs/plans/standalone-download-plan.md §3 recorded. The standalone download makes it concrete.
src/app/source.rs builds the address once: CARGO_PKG_REPOSITORY + /tree/v + CARGO_PKG_VERSION, so today https://github.com/InstaZDLL/waveflow-server/tree/v2.0.0-beta.1. It points at the tag of the running version, never at main. The tag is the entry to the complete offer: its archive carries Cargo.lock and the pinned waveflow-core revision.
/health reports it as source, next to version. The field is additive, and probes ignore it.
OpenAPI: info.license.url is now the LICENSE at that tag, and externalDocs is the source address. This goes through a Modify pass because utoipa 6 accepts only a string literal for license(url = …) and external_docs(url = …), and a literal would drift from the version.
Web client: a SourceOffer line ("WaveFlow Server 2.0.0-beta.1 is free software (AGPL-3.0). Source code") appears under the sign-in form, which every remote user reaches before signing in, and under every section of Settings. The strings are in en/common.ts and fr/common.ts. The link is underlined, because a link that inherits the muted colour is not visibly an offer. Vite's dev proxy now forwards /health.
Docs: the plan's §3 says the link now exists and names the one limit left. api-v2-guide.md documents the new field.
Why the server exposes the URL instead of the client building it
One place, testable. The address is computed in Rust and asserted by an integration test against a written-out literal. Both the web client and the OpenAPI document read it from there, so they cannot disagree.
The source follows the build, not the page. The address comes from the manifest's repository field. Someone who distributes a modified server owes its users their source, and changing one line in Cargo.toml moves every link. A client building github.com/InstaZDLL/…/tree/v${version} itself would keep pointing at upstream from a fork.
Other clients get it too. The desktop app or a client generated from the OpenAPI document can show the same offer without guessing.
/health is public, so the sign-in page can read it with no session. That matters because §13 covers users who have not signed in.
Known limit
A build from an untagged commit between two releases reports the last release's version, so it links to that tag. That tag is not the exact source it runs. Releases are what get distributed, so the offer holds for everything shipped. Naming the commit too would need the build to record it, which could be a later change. The plan says so.
that source is required in the ProbeResponse schema
The URLs in the test are written out in full, not read from the constant, so a drift cannot agree with itself.
Inversion 1: SOURCE_URL pointed at /tree/main → fails at probes.rs:223 (left: …/tree/main, right: …/tree/v2.0.0-beta.1).
Inversion 2: SourceOffer removed from modifiers(…) → fails at probes.rs:231 (left: Null, right: …/blob/v2.0.0-beta.1/LICENSE).
webapp/e2e/settings.spec.ts adds "links to the source of the running version, signed in or not". The mock /health returns a fake version and source, and the test checks the link's href in Settings and on the sign-in page. The CI runs it; it was not run locally.
Checked by hand on the real binary: the sign-in page shows the line, and the link resolves to https://github.com/InstaZDLL/waveflow-server/tree/v2.0.0-beta.1.
Local gates: cargo fmt --check, cargo clippy --all-targets --all-features -D warnings, cargo doc -D warnings, cargo test --test service (10/10), check-rust-layout.sh, check-webapp-layout.sh, bun run typecheck, bun run lint (only the two existing CSS warnings), vitest (331/331).

Merge Risk: Low · up to 987af
An open login or settings page may briefly show the previous version’s source link after an upgrade, but it refreshes automatically on a later focus.
Security architecture risk: Minimal · up to 987af
The added link comes from server build metadata, not user input. Its public request carries no credentials and does not change authentication or access controls. No material security risk was identified in this change. The link can temporarily lag a server upgrade, and untagged builds retain a documented source-accuracy limitation.
Retained concerns
No architecture-level concerns identified.
Security review details
Security Blast Radius
inferred — The new exposure reaches unauthenticated login visitors and authenticated Settings users, but the traced outcome is presentation of public server metadata and a user-followed link. It does not grant privileges or expose a new data-store or tenant boundary.
Trust Boundaries and Controls
inferred — The client trusts the same-origin health producer for link authority and does not runtime-validate the response shape. In the inspected implementation, the link is fixed by package metadata at build time; an unauthenticated requester cannot supply its destination. The credential-free request avoids the session-renewal path, so this new consumer does not weaken an existing authentication control.
Resilience and Maintainability Implications
inferred — Repeated consumers share public server identity rather than user identity. Session transitions clear the shared query cache. Even if an interrupted request continues because no AbortSignal is forwarded, its inspected operation only reads public metadata; no session mutation or privileged recovery action is attached to its completion.

Explanation
