The test (3.12) GitHub Actions job failed because the workflow installed only runtime deps, while pytest is declared in optional dev dependencies. This PR updates CI dependency installation so matrix test jobs can execute the test command reliably.

• Root cause addressed

  • Workflow used pip install -e ., which does not install project.optional-dependencies.dev.

• Workflow change

  • Updated the test workflow install step to include dev extras:
    • pip install -e ".[dev]"

• Impact

  • Keeps package runtime deps unchanged.
  • Ensures CI test environments include pytest across Python versions.
