Review comments at @crates/connetto-client/src/live.rs:
- Line 3031: Update pump_fail to clear the connection’s wire after closing the
transport, so is_connected() returns false and later client operations remain on
the disconnected path.
Review comments at @crates/connetto-client/tests/it/pump_fault.rs:
- Line 97: Update the `closed` flag store in the pump task to use Release
ordering and its three test-task loads to use Acquire ordering, preserving the
set-once flag’s synchronization contract.
- Line 14: Update the `Script` test’s synchronous mutex to use
`parking_lot::Mutex` instead of `std::sync::Mutex`, and remove the
`.expect("script lock")` calls from its lock operations so they use the
`parking_lot` API.
Review comments at @examples/dioxus-desktop-demo/src/main.rs:
- Line 623: In the event-processing loop that calls status.set(label), remember
when a ClientEvent::Stopped event has been received and skip the status update
for any subsequent ClientEvent::Closed event. Continue updating status for other
events so the stopped fault detail remains visible.
Review comments at @examples/dioxus-web-demo/src/main.rs:
- Line 530: Update the event receiver loop that calls status_label so it
remembers when ClientEvent::Stopped has occurred and ignores a subsequent
ClientEvent::Closed. Preserve the detail-bearing Stopped status and continue
showing “connection closed” for ordinary closes.
Review comments at @examples/tauri-leptos-demo/src-tauri/src/lib.rs:
- Line 459: Update feed_events to track whether a ClientEvent::Stopped has
occurred and skip only a subsequent ClientEvent::Closed status update. Preserve
the existing “connection closed” status for ordinary close events and retain the
stopped detail.
Review comments at @examples/yew-web-demo/src/main.rs:
- Line 487: Update the event-receiving loop to track whether
`ClientEvent::Stopped` was received and ignore a subsequent
`ClientEvent::Closed` only in that case, preserving the stopped detail. Keep
ordinary `Closed` events flowing to `status_label` so they still update the
status.

When the client's background driver hit an error that was not a lost connection, it stopped without telling anyone. No event went out, the socket stayed open, and everything waiting on the client kept waiting for good, a live query's
changed(), a content ticket, the file client's heal loop. An application had no way to show that sync had died.Such an error now ends the driver the way a close does, except that the application first receives
ClientEvent::Stoppedcarrying the error's text, then the usualClosed, so everything that already settles onClosedsettles. Live handles returnClientError::Stoppedfromchanged(), while their rows andwith_connkeep working on the local copy, as afterclose(). The three demos show the message in their status line. The new test in
crates/connetto-client/tests/it/pump_fault.rsfeeds the client a live patch that cannot be decoded. Onmainit waits out its five-second bound with no event at all, and here it seesStoppedthenClosed, the waiting handle released and the socket closed. When a pump hit a terminal fault, it could stop without notifying the client or closing the socket. Live operations could then wait indefinitely. The client now reports the fault through
ClientEvent::Stopped, closes the transport, and releases waiting handles withClientError::Stopped. Existing replica rows remain available.Recoverable disconnects still use the reconnect path, and normal server or client shutdown remains distinct from a pump fault. The demos preserve the fault detail in their status display.
