A replica is a partial copy, so a synced child can arrive without its parent. Row-level security, paging and eviction all leave such children, and the replica enforcing the server's
REFERENCEScould only refuse what the server accepted. On main, a local write of a note into a folder the caller cannot see fails withFOREIGN KEY constraint failed. Opening a replica now removes everyREFERENCESandFOREIGN KEYclause from the synced tables through sqlparser and passes every other statement through as written, so the server stays the one enforcer of synced references.The device tier keeps its references, and
PRAGMA foreign_keys = ONruns at every open on both backends, since the browser build does not enforce by default. The archive import checks references at its commit, because on main an import whose child table was created before its parent, or whose self-referencing rows arrive child first, is refused. SQLite's trigger depth goes back to its stock 1000, since every cascade level counts one frame and a bound of ten refused a tier hierarchy twelve levels deep. The same proofs run natively and in the browser.Partial replicas rejected synced child rows when row-level security hid their parent, and SQLite’s trigger-depth limit could block valid deep cascades. The fix strips references from synced table definitions while preserving references in the device-local tier, so the server can enforce synced relationships.
Foreign-key checks remain enabled on replica connections and defer until transaction commit during imports. This preserves tier reference enforcement and lets imports restore rows in dependency order.
