Marcos Montero

Serious systems. A playful mind.

I build products and the engineering teams behind them. Financial platforms, games, music tools and unusual interfaces: different ways of turning complex problems into software people can use.

Founding Engineer & Head of Engineering at Fynza. Previously CTO at Enso Coliving.

Building with responsibility

At Fynza, I started development as the sole engineer in April 2026, building the financial and risk-evaluation platform from its first technical decisions. We launched the MVP for the tourism sector in Mexico in early September. As of September 2026, our engineering team has grown to eight. International expansion is planned for 2027.

Before that, as CTO at Enso Coliving, I worked across technology strategy and a connected PropTech platform, bringing booking, payments and verification into one experience.

The work that interests me combines product judgment, hands-on engineering and helping a team deliver. I’m interested in conversations about CTO, Head of Engineering and Founding Engineer opportunities.

Selected work

Project What I’m building
Trilumin A published iOS home for Sudoku, Gokigen and Futoshiki. Product design, puzzle interaction and the work of shipping.
Finesse University Cooperative game systems, bots and a community around Hanabi: exploring what a clue means to someone else.
Loopool A music-production tools marketplace in development, connecting my audio background with product engineering.
Comeet A desktop workspace for revisiting recorded conversations: transcription, topics and action items. Case study; distribution under review.
react-p2p-host A React library for peer-to-peer interactions and shared state, with a live local WebRTC demonstration.

A little room to experiment

Music keeps finding its way into my code. In the Sound Lab you’ll find a browser synth and looper, audiovisual experiments, a MIDI-pattern prototype and a recorded vision-to-MIDI proof of concept.

Open-source work

  • react-p2p-host — WebRTC and shared state with a React-shaped API. Manual signaling and network constraints are part of the design.
  • tailwind-inview — Styles that respond to elements entering the viewport.
  • aos-react-tailwind — Reusable scroll-animation tools for React and Tailwind.
  • Synthestesia — An earlier experiment connecting keyboard input, notes and colour.

Beyond the stack

Philosophy graduate. Audio production at SAE Institute. Self-taught programmer.

I’m curious about how people think, how systems behave and how a small interaction can change an experience. That curiosity shows up in my software, my games and the things I make simply to see what happens.
