💡 What: Replaced try...except blocks with explicit dynamic bounds checking (0 <= x < self.dim.x) in tight nested spatial loops within Simulation/CancerInvasionSteppables.py.

🎯 Why: In the CompuCell3D (CC3D) architecture, out-of-bounds field lookups generate C++ exceptions that cross the SWIG language barrier. Relying on exception handling to detect out-of-bounds pixels in tight loops (e.g. searching around a cell) incurs significant overhead and slows down the simulation.

📊 Impact: This change drastically reduces the overhead of spatial searches (e.g., checking cell contact, removing fibers, or tracking degradation) by avoiding expensive exception propagation when iterating near lattice boundaries.

🔬 Measurement: Verified the steppables still execute successfully through mocking and unit tests (test_performance.py), proving the fallback logic remains intact and exceptions are mitigated correctly.
