💡 What: Removed try...except blocks around self.cell_field access inside spatial loops and added dynamic bounds checking (self.dim.x, self.dim.y).
🎯 Why: Out-of-bounds SWIG object lookups throw exceptions that incur significant performance overhead inside tightly nested loops. Explicit bounds checking prevents these exceptions.
📊 Impact: Substantially improves iteration speed in cell and ECM processing loops by avoiding expensive Python/C++ exception unwinding.
🔬 Measurement: Verify by running the CompuCell3D simulation locally and measuring the steps-per-second, or by running test_optimization.py.
