Closing this older PR because the head branch was the fork's old default branch and now includes unrelated fork-governance changes after the fork moved toward main. I opened #7 from a dedicated branch with only the Python 3.12+ warning fix. |

convert str to raw str for escape sequence passed to regex.
Original code works but throws a warning in Python 3.12+
