Hello,

I’m Emma, and I work on the Google Fonts team. A significant number of users have been requesting a UI version with vertical metrics that allow caps to be vertically centered in buttons on the web, for example. Here are the related issues:

Unfortunately, we can’t directly update the current version, as it would introduce major regressions that could break the layout of some websites.

I added a few scripts to the build process to patch new v-metric values and create a new version of Overpass called Overpass UI.

To be perfectly clear, this version will remain in the repo and will not be pushed to the Google API. What I can do is update the “About” section of the online specimen on Google Fonts to explain that users who need vertically centered caps should use the UI version available in the repository.

In this PR, I re-exported the normal/current version, but I did not modify it in any way, so I did not bump the version number.

Here are the v-metric values for Overpass UI:

typoAscender: 2000
typoDescender: -600
typoLineGap: 0
winAscent: 2316
winDescent: 756
hheaAscender: 2000
hheaDescender: -600
hheaLineGap: 0

Attached is an image of the new rendering.
