Summary

  • Adds a blog post on my Summer of Bitcoin 2026 project: the Icon & Visual Language System for Kern, an air-gapped Bitcoin signing firmware.
  • Covers the 11 PRs I shipped (icon families, semantic colours, login screen redesign, keyboard highlight states, PIN delay arc, passphrase masking, and more), the design decisions behind the login/keyboard redesigns with before/after screenshots, and reflections on the project and what I learned working in LVGL/C coming from a Figma/React background.
  • Adds my author profile to _config.yml per the contribution guidelines in README.md.

Adds a blog post covering the Kern Icon & Visual Language System work
for Summer of Bitcoin 2026: 11 shipped PRs (icon families, semantic
colours, login screen redesign, keyboard highlight states, PIN delay
arc, passphrase masking), the technical decisions behind the login and
keyboard redesigns, and reflections on the project and what was
learned working in LVGL/C.

Adds the author profile to _config.yml per the contribution guidelines
in README.md.
Adds bordered card sections with a Kern-orange accent (matching the
project's own brand) for the intro, project snapshot, PR list heading,
technical-decisions heading, and reflections. Colors are tuned for
this blog's actual light theme (white/off-white cards, dark body text)
rather than a dark theme, so it sits naturally alongside the rest of
the site instead of clashing with it.

Verified with kramdown (this site's markdown engine, matching
_config.yml's `markdown: kramdown` / `input: GFM`) that every custom
HTML block passes through unescaped and well-formed, and that the PR
table and all 5 images still render correctly.
