'@tanstack/db': patch
---

Report a `compareOptions` mismatch in the `orderBy` with `limit` lazy-loading warning. When an index on the ordered field exists but was built with different `compareOptions` (for example `nulls: 'last'` against an index with the default `nulls: 'first'`), the warning now says so and shows the `createIndex` call with matching `compareOptions`, instead of claiming that no index exists.

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win

Make the suggested createIndex call usable without a default index type.

When a collection has no defaultIndexType, this call fails because it omits indexType. The new test uses that configuration: it creates the existing index with an explicit BasicIndex. Include an explicit index type in the suggestion, or tell users to configure defaultIndexType first. (tanstack.com)

Review comment at @packages/db/src/query/compiler/order-by.ts at line 229:
Update the createIndex suggestion in the order-by compiler to include an
explicit BasicIndex type, so it remains usable when defaultIndexType is unset;
preserve the existing fieldPath and compareOptions guidance.
