🎯 What:
Extracted logic from the overly long
cmd_installfunction inpython-installer/techscript/__main__.pyinto small, focused private helper functions (_check_platform_and_existing_install,_download_release_asset,_install_binary_and_setup_path, and_print_install_completion).💡 Why:
Improves code readability, maintainability, and testability of the Python installer entry point by separating concerns into distinct stages (platform check, release download, binary installation, and completion formatting).
✅ Verification:
Added unit tests covering
cmd_installinpython-installer/tests/test_installer.pyand ranpytest python-installer/testsas well ascargo test --workspace --all-targets.✨ Result:
The
cmd_installfunction is reduced from ~90 lines down to ~15 lines, and test coverage is added for CLI installation workflows.PR created automatically by Jules for task 17785767462715855338 started by @Tcode-Motion
